Former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn welcomes first baby with boyfriend Jonathan Smith

Congratulations to Sarah Jayne Dunn and her actor boyfriend Jonathan Smith – the couple have become first-time parents. The actress, who is best known for playing Mandy Richardson on-off on Hollyoaks, announced her big news on Instagram.

Sharing a photo of a sign that read 'It's a boy' Sarah wrote: "Our gorgeous little man arrived safe & well on 7th August. We're in love."

In the lead-up to the birth, Sarah gave fans updates about her pregnancy. Showing off her large bump in another Instagram snap, she posted: "BUMP!!!! This was a week ago, I'm not sure I can expand my belly anymore #pregnancy#thirdtrimester #38weeks."

The soap screen star also tweeted a local curry house, showing that she was using some traditional remedies to induce labour. "Round 2 @mughli #getthisbabyout #hothotcurry," she wrote.

Sarah, 34, also shared a photo of her baby's new nursery, which featured the letter lights "POM", leading many to suspect that they could stand for her son's initials.

The actress announced her pregnancy in March by sharing a photo of her small bump. She also tweeted: "We are excited & thrilled to become mummy and daddy."

Sarah is a trained make-up artist and runs a beauty salon in Manchester but fans will recognise her from her acting days in Hollyoaks.

This is the first child for the actress

She starred as Mandy Richardson, making her on-screen debut in 1996, and was involved in dramatic storylines such as the suicide of her brother Lewis and her on-off relationship with Tony Hutchinson, played by Nick Pickard, before the couple married.
