Singer Paloma Faith has shared some exciting news – she's expecting her first baby! The 35-year-old confessed that she feels "lucky" to be fulfilling her lifelong desire to become a mother, but insisted she'll only be taking a short break from work.
The Voice UK host Paloma took to Twitter to share her happiness, posting a lengthy statement for her fans.
Paloma Faith posted a statement on her official website confirming the happy news
She wrote: "I am so delighted to tell you I am going to take a short while off to have a baby. I have spent my whole life wanting to be a mother and now the time has come for me to do so. I feel so lucky."
Paloma's statement confirmed she will not be returning as a judge on The Voice this year and that the release of her fourth album has been pushed back to next year.
The 30 Minute Love Affair hit maker continued: "So while you're all patiently waiting, I would like you to know that I am grateful for your continued support and patience and I hope that you will respect my new family with privacy in a time which should be calm and without anxiety."
She recently revealed she's planning to marry long-term boyfriend Leyman Lachine
Famously private about her own personal life, Paloma also made the unsurprising revelation that she will be keeping her baby out of the public eye.
"I am nervous and excited about being a mum and just need to be normal and low key for a while," she added. "Pregnancy and motherhood is a very personal thing: daunting, new and worrying at times and I don't want to add to it by having to "look" a certain way when pregnant or being photographed pregnant or with my child. I wasn't raised like that and I don't want my child to be."
This child is the first for both Paloma and her long-term boyfriend Leyman Lachine, and Paloma recently confessed she would love to marry the French artist.
