A.J McLean has announced he is expecting his second child with wife Rochelle

The happy couple, who tied the knot in December 2011 in Beverly Hills, are already proud parents to three-year-old daughter Ava Jaymes.

AJ's big announcement comes just five months after his Backstreet Boys bandmate Nick Carter became a first time father. The 36-year-old and his wife Lauren Kitt welcomed son Odin Reign on 19 April.

Speaking to People back in January, AJ revealed he had been giving Nick advice ahead of his son's arrival.

"I told him, 'You're never going to get it right. It's a learning process.' My daughter is 3 and I'm still learning," 38-year-old AJ said.

"Whatever our next child is, boy or girl, you would think that, 'Oh I did it once, I've got it.' No. It's hard. It'll make it easier, but it's still going to be a brand new learning process. He's going to be a great dad. He's already a great husband, a great bandmate."

AJ also confirmed that he and Rochelle were "talking about baby number two", telling the publication: "It's trying to figure out when and where!"
