Coronation Street's Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin shop for baby items ahead of birth

October 24, 2016

Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin appeared to be in great and relaxed spirits as they headed to The Baby Show in London's affluent area of Kensington this week. No doubt getting supplies for their impending arrival, the couple looked happier than ever.

Hollyoaks actress Sophie, 32, showed off her blossoming baby bump in a tight black Envie de Fraise dress, which was styled further with a khaki jacket and suede platform ankle boots.

Not to be outdone in the style stakes, Shayne, also 32, kept his cool in blue fitted trousers and a suave navy coat which was teamed with an off-white knitted jumper.

Earlier this year, the soap stars announced they are expecting their first child together. They confirmed the news on social media following numerous reports of Sophie's pregnancy.

"After much speculation I'm overjoyed to announce that @sophieaustin1 and I are expecting our first child. #blessed," the former X Factor star announced tweeted.

At the time, an insider close to the couple told The Sun: "Sophie and Shayne have been keeping the exciting news to themselves to enjoy the moment in private. But mum and baby are doing amazing and they’ve started telling their nearest and dearest."

Shayne and Sophie confirmed their relationship in March, following her split from husband Graeme Rooney after just nine months. She said in a statement: "Very sadly, my husband and I separated a little while ago. The breakdown of any long-term relationship is always difficult and this is no exception."

In 2014 Shayne - who plays Corrie's Aidan Connor - ended his decade-long relationship with Faye McKeever, just a year after getting engaged.
