Congratulations are in order as Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his fiancée Mara Lane are expecting their first baby together! The Hollywood star's partner confirmed the happy news with a series of beautiful pictures, which she shared on Instagram on Monday.

The first image sees Mara compare her blossoming bump to Santa Claus' belly in a Christmas themed photoshoot. She simply captioned the picture with, "#IncomingPackage best present," alongside the hashtags, #ThankYouLord and #SantaBelly.

Another photograph sees Mara posing next to a decorated Christmas tree, dressed in a chic maternity number. "Our other official prego wego dress," she wrote. "Found in #Amsterdam #Noordermarkt for 15 euros. Every other day I dunno as I have other dresses but Baby likes these ones ... is super conscious, connected & aware. Has not let me eat much meat entire pregnancy either ... has me thinking about things I'd rather live in ignorance to." [sic] She added: "Angel alien baby about to rock my world I already know. I'm thankful for my soon to be best teacher and friend."

Earlier this year, the couple - who have been together since 2013 - sparked speculation that they have secretly got married after Mara - who is an American actress and producer - changed her name on her Instagram profile to Mara & Toco Lane Rhys Meyers.

And this news will no doubt be a welcome surprise for the Tudors actor. The 39-year-old is currently in recovery after years of battling alcohol addiction. It is thought that his fiancée has significantly helped the star on his journey - Jonathan had been sober for four years before suffering a relapse last year, he later apologised to fans through Mara's Instagram account.

He wrote: "Mara and I are thankful for your support and kindness during this time. I apologizes [sic] for having a minor relapse and hope that people don't think too badly of me." The star continued: "I am on the mend and thank well-wishers and sorry for my dishevelled appearance as I was on my way home from a friends and had not changed. I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was just a blip in my recovery otherwise I'm living a healthy life."
