Geri Halliwell posts cute cupcakes photo to celebrate birth of baby son

Geri Halliwell has shared an adorable photo of cupcakes bearing the names of her family including her new baby son, Monty.

The Spice Girls band member announced that she and her husband Christian Horner had welcomed their first child together on Saturday. Sharing a photo of their baby son's foot, she wrote: "Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia #amazingday #grateful #monty." She then thanked well-wishers for their support with a snap of their celebratory cupcakes, writing: "Time for some birthday cake! Thank you for all your lovely messages." Fans of the star were quick to discuss little Monty's name, with one writing: "Congratulations and what a handsome name," while another added: "Fabulous...love the names."

Geri announced the news on Twitter on Saturday morning, writing: "Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz." Her bandmate Melanie C was among the first to congratulate her, writing: "Woo hoo!!!!! Congratulations! So exciting!" The One Show host Alex Jones also offered her congrats, tweeting: "Congratulations!!! Lovely news. Don't think I'll be far behind you." The 44-year-old and her husband originally shared the news that they were expecting their first child together back in October with a joint statement that read: "Spice Girl Geri Horner, 44, and husband Christian Horner OBE, 42, are absolutely delighted to announce they are expecting their first child together. The couple is overjoyed with the good news and cannot wait to welcome the newest addition to their family." Geri also posted the news on Instagram, writing "God bless Mother Nature #mamaspice," alongside a sketch of a heavily pregnant woman.
