Geri Halliwell opened up about her pregnancy aged 44, revealing that she found yoga incredibly helpful.
The star, who gave birth to her baby son Montgomery on Saturday 21, opened up about her pregnancy journey to The Sunday Times. Speaking about her baby son, Geri said: "I feel incredibly lucky to have conceived naturally at my age, 44. I see it as a miracle. Trust me, I can still moan like the rest them but, equally, I remind myself every day that this is an absolute gift." She then spoke about her love for yoga, explaining: "I found Iyengar yoga, which I have practised for several years, to be really helpful. I really like the pose when you are on all fours and you wiggle your hips… I also love a couple of standing poses, especially the half-moon, but deep down I am like a lazy lion. To me the resting poses are the best."
The former Spice Girls band member regularly shared photos of herself in various yoga poses throughout her pregnancy and joked about some of the more extreme positions. "The pregnancy yoga pose I did on Instagram recently… may have looked extreme but I did work up to it," she said. "And I had assistance. I would only suggest you do that if you are with someone who is qualified to help you into that pose. I am quite little — only 5ft 2in — so it really helped to lift and open my back to create space in my torso for the baby."
Geri and Christian welcomed Monty on Saturday 21
Geri announced the arrival of her baby boy with her husband Christian Horner in a sweet Instagram photo, which shows the mum-of-two holding little Montgomery's foot. She captioned the photo: "Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia #amazing day #grateful #monty." She also shared an adorable photo of cupcakes bearing the names of her family members, writing: "Time for some birthday cake! Thank you for all your lovely messages."
