Alex Jones made a sensational return to The One Show’s sofa on Monday night, reuniting with her co-host, Matt Baker. Her comeback came in perfect timing, with Supernanny Jo Frost appearing on the episode – and managed to give the new mum some expert advice in the process. Discussing a baby’s sleep routine, Alex asked: “How early can you establish a routine Jo?” The expert nanny replied: “I think you can do it straight off. Certainly you see with yourself now having had little Teddy that you are starting to, I’m assuming now, writing down a baby log with regards to when the sleep and awake, and you start to see the patterns and those regular sleeping modes as such to allow you to start forming that routine.”
Adding, she said: “What’s really important is that once you’ve got through that first year that you are continuing through those toddler years that are absolutely essential.” Jo then went on to state that 15% of toddlers are fighting to not put their pyjamas on in the evening, leading Alex to joke: “it doesn’t stop does it, it doesn’t end!”

Alex couldn't wait to see her little boy after her first day back at work
Alex announced her return on Friday’s episode of the show, saying: “I’m coming back to The One Show on Monday. Matt, hopefully you’ll look after me because I’ll be feeling a bit nervous. Excited to see everybody, the whole team.” She continued: “It will be hard leaving little Ted, as every parent, I'm sure, understands. I'll be back on Monday - two days to begin with. Last month, Alex shared her first photo of baby Ted on Instagram - delighting her loyal followers
Alex and her husband Charlie Thomson welcomed their baby Teddy – full name Edward Alan Burrell Thomson - in January. He was born at the Hammersmith and Fulham hospital weighing 7lbs 11oz. On her new arrival, she said: "It was all very straightforward. Charlie was with me and mum and dad were in the waiting room… We're in this bubble the three of us. It's just the best time." Shortly after the birth, Alex called The One Show and said on air: "We're a bit behind on the whole name thing because we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl. We thought, 'When we see him we'll know what he looks like', but actually it's really hard."
