Alex Jones made a sensational comeback to The One Show on Monday night following a three and a half month maternity break after giving birth to baby Teddy. And while the much-loved presenter has been doing a fabulous job back on the sofa alongside co-host Matt Baker, it appears that the new mum has been suffering from a dosage of baby brain syndrome. On Tuesday’s show, Alex and Matt interviewed Hollywood legends Kurt Russell and Chris Pratt, who were promoting their new movie Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2. While chatting to the A-listers, the 40-year-old went to tell a joke. “What do you call a one-eyed dinosaur” she began. After a short pause, the host then laughed: “Oh, I can’t remember.” Chris then saved the day, finishing the joke for her: “Oh I think he saw us,” he quipped.
This week Alex has been reunited with co-host Matt Baker - and fans are delighted!
On her first day back at work, Alex was treated to a lovely surprise in her dressing room by Angela Scanlon, who has been covering for the new mum on the show during her maternity leave. Sharing a picture of her goodies on Instagram, the photo showed a desk filled with treats, including a How to Hygge guide and a cup of tea. Fans voiced their delight at having the presenter back on the screen alongside the snap, with one writing: “Welcome back Alex! I missed you!,” while another complimented: “Welcome back @alexjonesthomson you have been missed! You looked stunning by the way.”

Alex and her husband Charlie Thomson welcomed their baby Teddy – full name Edward Alan Burrell Thomson - in January. He was born at the Hammersmith and Fulham hospital.
The star spoke to The One Show shortly after giving birth. "It's the most wonderful feeling," she told viewers. "He was 7lbs 11oz – a lovely weight. It was all very straightforward. Charlie was with me and mum and dad were in the waiting room." She added: "The last four days have been heaven. We're in this bubble the three of us. It's just the best time. We're a bit behind on the whole name thing because we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl. We thought, 'When we see him we'll know what he looks like', but actually it's really hard."
