Madonna has shared a photo of her son David Banda wearing traditional Malawi robes, standing beside a picture of his biological parents. The singer adopted David as a baby back in 2006 and this new picture shows David, who is now 11, wearing a green, purple and white patterned native robe and a gold chain. He can be seen standing next to a family photograph of his mother Madonna and birth parents. Madonna captioned the photo: “Be proud of who you are and where you come from!” The star's 9.4 million Instagram followers loved the snap of her son in his native robes.
Fans of the 58-year-old popstar were quick to comment on the sweet picture, with one writing: “It's so cool that you've taught your kids to keep in touch with their roots. Amen to that.” A second follower told the star: “World family, awesome. I love you guys so much!” While another said: “Love that you keep your children's heritage close to them. Good mom.” There was more praise for the singer, as a fan posted: “This is amazing, made me so happy to see this. David looks so handsome. Think Madonna has done a great job!”

Madonna has adopted four children. David Banda and daughter Mercy James in 2009, who is also from Malawi. Then more recently in February, the star became mum to four-year-old twins Esther and Stella Mwale. Madonna’s biological children are Lourdes Leon, 20, with her former partner Carlos Leon and Rocco, 16, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie. Madonna has posted several photos and video clips to her Instagram page recently of her newly-adopted twins Esther and Stella.
Last month the Vogue singer shared a cute photo of them playing dress-up, complete with wigs! The adorable four-year-olds wore matching star spangled dresses in mint green and pastel pink while sporting long blonde and brunette wigs. The proud mum captioned the snap: "Getting ready for the week ahead," and fans were quick to praise the photo. One wrote: "It must be loads of fun with you as a mum," one wrote. Another added: "I want a wig to play in! @madonna (they are so super cute)."
