Made In Chelsea star Binky Felstead has come under fire for maintaining a strict exercise and diet regime throughout her pregnancy. But appearing on Tuesday's Sky News, the expectant mother defended her choice and claimed that exercise has helped with her anxiety. She told presenters Jacquie Beltrao and Sarah-Jane Mee: "As a first-time mum, you are already aware that people are anti-exercise in case it does harm the baby but with the research you're doing your body good and your baby good."

The 26-year-old, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Josh 'JP' Patterson, insisted it is good to maintain some level of fitness during pregnancy. She explained: "It helps you with labour, it keeps me and my mind at ease. I suffer from anxiety so I feel so much better." Discussing her favourite workout style, Binky added: "Swimming is really good and lots of stretching, obviously pelvic floor is very good." The TV star has joined forces with Aptaclub's Active For 2 campaign to support women in how to exercise safely during pregnancy.

Binky and her boyfriend JP, who she met through filming Made in Chelsea, are expecting their first child in June. The couple exclusively announced their news in HELLO! magazine back in January, at the time saying: "It's obviously been a huge shock to both of us. This is a new start and a new chapter in our lives." Last month, Binky hosted a baby gender reveal party where she and JP announced that they are having a girl.

Appearing on This Morning, mum-to-be Binky recently discussed how the couple are preparing for the new arrival. "I do feel ready," she said. "The house has been renovated, the nursery is being planned and everything has been bought. It's really exciting." Josh added: "Binks and I are very blessed with the support we have had [from fans]… We are just very normal people. We are very private people, who go to the country - we are not really ones for the spotlight." Binky concluded: "I'm not nervous. I feel like we've been given a real gift and I'm just really excited to become a little family."
