The Prince and Princess of Wales are often praised for their down-to-earth approach to parenting their three children in the royal spotlight.

Most recently, royal fans have been united in their reaction to Princess Kate's kind-hearted response to her daughter, Princess Charlotte, bursting into tears after a throwback clip from Trooping the Colour in 2018 resurfaced on Instagram. See the shocking moment that's causing a stir on social media in the clip below…

While Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, never fail to delight royal fans when they make appearances in public, occasionally the excitement can get a bit too much for the royal tots.

Back in 2018, Princess Charlotte missed her step while appearing on the balcony at Buckingham Palace in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II's annual birthday parade. While watching the flyover, the then-three-year-old royal looked up before taking a tumble, which led her to burst into tears.

A calm and collected Princess Kate swiftly swept in to comfort her daughter, picking her up and cradling her in front of the crowds. The mother-of-three's heartfelt reaction and concern for her little one has sparked a major reaction online from royal fans who admired her swift response.

"Oh....there is no place more comforting than being in her mother's arms!" commented one fan, as another agreed: "Kate showed her quick super mum reflexes there. Way to go!"

"Aww poor girl, she's a princess but she's also a normal child. She was about to cry and Kate did a good job, she's an amazing mum," chimed in a third fan.

Princess Charlotte's tumble isn't the only time a royal has experienced a mishap in public. The late Princess Diana once fell up the plane stairs in 1991 during a visit to Pakistan.

Having slipped and grabbed the handrail to steady herself, Diana's bad day only got worse when her flight was delayed for an hour because of a rainstorm.

The windy weather also caused havoc with her wraparound skirt, so we're guessing she was glad to finally get onboard the plane.
