Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise have a huge reason to celebrate today (April 18) as the teen turns 17.
Fans will no doubt be amazed at how fast time has flown as Suri will officially enter adulthood next year.
The Alone Together actress has a close bond with Suri, while her famous father, Tom Cruise, is reportedly estranged from his daughter.
Katie is yet to acknowledge Suri's birthday on social media, but will likely be celebrating behind closed doors as she strives to protect her privacy.
While the mother-daughter duo have cause for a party, it seems unlikely Tom - who is busy filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two - will reconnect with her after all these years.

That doesn't mean that Suri hasn't inherited any of her dad's talents though. It appears she is following in the footsteps of both of her parents - whose first date was April 18 2005, one year before Suri was born - and stepping into the limelight.
The teen features in Katie's latest movie project, Rare Objects. At the very end of the credits for the two-hour flick, it reads: "This film is dedicated to SURI".
She also featured in her mom's previous directorial, Alone Together, and she sounded just like Katie. Suri sang "Blue Moon" in the opening credits for the film, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2022, and was mentioned in the dedication once again at the end.

Katie spoke to Yahoo! Entertainment about her daughter's role in the movie and said: "She's very, very talented. She said she would do it and she recorded it and I let her do her thing."
On being asked why she chose Suri for the job, she responded: "I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her."

Speaking to Glamour, she said: "What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her."
She added: "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."
The proud mother revealed that she hopes Suri will continue to be involved in her future projects, as it brings her immense joy to include her daughter in her creative pursuits. I hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her."
