Padma Lakshmi has a celebrated career as a model, cookbook author, and TV personality - and it looks like her daughter, Krishna, may be mapping out a future just like her mom.
The Top Chef host, 52, is prepping for the season two premiere of her Hulu series, Taste Nation - in which she explores America's many food cultures and their histories - and the teenager was featured in some of the first season's episodes, suggesting she has an inquisitive culinary taste like Padma, and also a knack for being in front of the camera.
One look at Padma's Instagram feed and it's clear Krishna has inherited her mom's beautiful genes as well. The mother-daughter duo look so alike with their raven hair and delicate features.
Krishna will turn 14 in July, and last year Padma celebrated her daughter's birthday by praising her for all the changes she'd been brave enough to face. "This year, Littlehands got her nose pierced, took her braces off, and celebrated her Bat Mitzvah!!" the proud mom wrote in her caption. "A big year for my baby girl."
She previously called Krishna "the star of the family" and applauded her skill set. "I’m a fan of my daughter’s creativity,” the Easy Exotic author explained.

"She is wildly entertaining and funny and a great singer. Krishna’s hysterical. I have to resist the temptation to put her on my social media all the time because I don’t think that’s right, but it’s hard because she’s really, genuinely funny!"
Padma shares Krishna with her ex, Adam R. Dell. She began dating the venture capitalist in 2009, two years after she divorced novelist Salman Rushdie. But they split in 2000.
They had a brief legal spat over custody of Krishna and Adam sued Padma in 2011. However, they were able to resolve their issues and have been co-parenting to the best of their abilities ever since.
"I don’t know that there is a perfect balance,” she told Us Weekly about making the relationship work for the sake of Krishna. “Every day is different.”
