He may be best known as the tech tycoon who revolutionized online shopping and conquered space with his aerospace company Blue Origin, but Jeff Bezos also holds another, far more personal, title: devoted father.

Jeff's kids from his first marriage
Jeff, 61, shares four children with his ex-wife, philanthropist and novelist MacKenzie Scott. The couple met in 1992 when they were both working at the investment management firm D. E. Shaw & Co. A year later, in 1993, they tied the knot—just a year before Bezos launched the startup that would change the world from the garage of their Seattle home.
Their first child, a son named Preston, was born in 2000. His name holds deep significance in the Bezos family, passed down through generations. It is not only the middle name of Jeff himself, but also of his great-grandfather and grandfather, symbolizing a legacy that Preston, now in his twenties, may one day inherit.

Unlike Preston, their names and birthdates have never been revealed publicly, a testament to how fiercely Bezos guards their privacy. In fact, the only known photo of all four Bezos children was taken at San Diego’s Comic-Con in 2016 when the family attended the premiere of Star Trek Beyond.

Speaking at the Economic Club of Washington D.C., he once described his ideal morning: "I like to putter in the mornings. I like to read the newspaper, I like to have coffee, I like to have breakfast with my kids before they go to school. My puttering time is very important to me."
Family has always remained a cornerstone of his values, even after his 2019 divorce from MacKenzie. In a rare joint statement announcing their separation, the couple reflected warmly on their decades together, saying, "If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again."
The split, which was finalized amicably, did little to diminish their commitment to their children. "Though the labels might be different, we remain a family," the statement continued. MacKenzie, who has since become one of the world’s most generous philanthropists, has largely followed Bezos’ lead in keeping their children out of the spotlight.

While Bezos’s biological children remain out of public view, the Amazon founder’s blended family is about to grow. In May 2023, he proposed to his long-time girlfriend, former news anchor and Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez. The glamorous couple, who often appear side by side at high-profile events and red carpets, have been inseparable in recent years.
