Helen Skelton revealed the realities of motherhood in a hilariously candid snapshot of her three children Ernie, eight, Louis, six, and Elsie, one.
The Countryfile presenter was enjoying a walk with her children when she decided to capture the family outing on camera – except it didn't go to plan. Helen and her brood were strolling up a tarmac path that separated large grassy areas surrounded by trees.
© InstagramBut the second the former Strictly star tried to take a sweet photo, her two youngest children dropped to the floor in protest while Ernie looked back at them in confusion. "I said. Can I have a photo. They heard…[mind blown emoji]," she captioned the hilarious photo, in which the protective mother had hidden her children's faces to maintain their privacy.
© InstagramThis comes shortly after she shared another photo of a family adventure complete with a trio of giant pumpkins and an impressive-looking scarecrow. Dressed in skinny jeans, a warm jacket, a sporty baseball cap and lace-up khaki outdoor boots, the 40-year-old perched on a hay bale with little Elsie sitting on her lap, while her sons sat beside her.
Helen shares her three children with her ex-husband, Richie Myler. The former couple got married in 2013, but they announced their shock separation in April 2022, shortly after welcoming baby Elsie.
© GettyThe Blue Peter presenter released a statement that said they "will be doing our best to co-parent our small children." Richie has since welcomed a baby with his girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill.
According to The Sun, extracts from her new book, In My Stride, reveal how Helen "was in shock" when Richie left the family home. Despite the difficult split, Helen explained that she refuses to delete photos of herself with her former husband for the sake of their children. "I want them to know that we loved each other, but things change and that’s OK too," she penned.
© InstagramOn juggling her career and her time at home with her kids, Helen told Lorraine host Ranvir Singh in 2022: "I lump work into my me time but not everyone can do Strictly for work. But for me, lower the standards, my kids do not always go to school in fully ironed uniforms and do you know what, they’ll be alright. Delegate!"
However, she has since stepped down from her BBC Radio 5 job in order to spend more time with her children.
