It's a difficult job keeping up with the Kardashian sisters and Kim, Khloe and Kourtney are expanding their global empire yet again by launching a self-tanning range. The siblings, whose famous family is said to be worth around $65million, have announced plans for a five-product Kardashian Sun Kissed range, to be launched in April 2013.Tanning has really been a way of life for all of us, living in California," says Kim. "Especially more recently the need for sunless tan".
Referring to the benefits of fake tanning compared to the real deal which comes hand in hand with the risks of sun damage, the eldest of the Kardashian trio, Kourtney, spoke about the convenience of colour in a bottle and why their brand only contains the good stuff. “[We] came up with something that is still good for your skin and healthy for you; everything is paraben and sulphate-free,” said Kourtney. “We love beauty and fashion, but making sure we're taking care of our bodies is crucial to us.”
On a recent episode of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, mother-of-two Kourtney is seen agonising over an impending bikini shoot as she doesn't feel that she has lost her baby weight. Kim encourages her sister to get a spray tan to make herself feel better.
"But what if I get one and I look orange like Kim does?" Kourtney asks her boyfriend Scott Disick.
Scott replies: "Just get one layer."
Kim, who is expecting her first child with rapper Kanye West in July, has revealed that fake tan is one of her must-have beauty products. "When I travel, the one thing that makes me feel alive whether or not I have make-up on is a tan, especially on my face" she says.
The reality TV star has used her experience to help create what she believes is the perfect fake tanning range. "Every time I put sunless tan before, it wouldn’t be even – so we wanted a system that was really easy but yet is a full system," she explains.
The Kardashian Sun Kissed range boasts a three-step tanning process which includes exfoliation, colour application and moisturiser. The product line includes a Body Exfoliator or Colour Maximiser, Instant Sunless Lotion, Instant Sunless Spray and Tan Extender with Bronzers.
Available in the U.S from April, industry experts expect sales of the tanning range to reach $10 million in the first year, which may be helped by the sisters' love for social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram to connect with their fans.Tweeting proudly about their new creations the trio have already shared preview photos of their products around the world via micro-blogging website with Kim even giving a sneaky demonstration of the product's mahogany results on the photosphere with the tagline: "Sprayed tonight after watching KKTM! [Kourtney and Kim Take Miami] My legs are soooo dark! Loving Kardashian SunKissed!"
