Can a simple two-step skincare routine give women confidence in their complexions? HELLO! beauty editor Nadine Baggott chats to two readers to find out...

Nadine Baggott finds out if a simple two-step skincare routine has given HELLO! Readers Evelynne and Danielle skin confidence

WIN A YEAR'S SUPPLY OF SKIN CONFIDENCE IN OUR EXCLUSIVE £10,000 SKINCARE GIVEAWAY

Three weeks ago I met HELLO! readers, mother and daughter Evelynne, 49, and Danielle, 23, and asked them what they wanted from a good skin day. According to research by Lancôme, feeling confident in your skin is the single most important thing that women want from skincare and my readers certainly agree. Danielle wanted: "Skin that looks glowing and healthy, and doesn't feel dry." For her mother Evelynne, the key was: "To prevent my fine lines from looking any worse, but mainly to have that healthy glow back; to have skin that looks radiant and feels smoother and firmer."

Mother and daughter Evelynne and Danielle meet up with Nadine after using the simple two-step skincare routine from Lâncome

With the help of Lancôme Skin Expert Louise Garwood, I introduced Evelynne and Danielle to a simple two-step skincare routine that I thought could really help them achieve their skin goals; Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique serum and a moisturiser chosen for their specific skin needs. For Danielle, that moisturiser is Hydra Zen (an ultra-hydrating moisturiser for her young skin) and for Evelynne it's Renergie Multi Lift for her firming and anti-wrinkle needs. I caught up with them to see if streamlining their skincare routine and, most importantly, introducing a serum, worked.

"I used the serum and right away noticed that my skin looked and felt softer, with a healthy glow," explained Evelynne. "With the moisturiser, too, it looked well rested, like I had slept really well and I noticed my fine lines starting to look a lot softer."

For Danielle, discovering that she could use the same serum as her mother was a revelation. "We share clothes, even make-up when I stay at my parents' house, but never skincare before. I was surprised that Advanced Génifique serum could work for me in my 20s and for my mother, who is nearly fifty.

“I found that using the serum calmed, softened and hydrated my dry skin and most importantly it made my make-up go on evenly and smoothly. My skin looked really radiant. To be really honest, today is the first time I have even worn make-up in more than a week. A serum really has made that much difference to my skin and how confident I feel in it. “I am delighted with the results and it confirms that, for me, the secret of skin confidence lies in great skincare – and that streamlining your routine can hold the key to a great skin day.”

Try Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique serum for yourself today. Go to any Lancôme counter in the UK or Ireland and ask for your free one-week supply. While you are there, why not ask a beauty advisor to recommend your perfect moisturiser too?
