Kate Winslet has taken the next step in her bid to end the use of airbrushing on images of herself. The 40-year-old has revealed that her latest contract with cosmetics giant L'Oréal states that her photos cannot be retouched.

The Titanic star, who is set to star in the group's Lancôme adverts, negotiated a new clause for her contract which demands that her images be "free of any additional editing".
"I can only ever speak for myself and I can only ever do things that are important to me and it's a hope that other people might follow suit," the mother-of-three told E! News, explaining her decision. "But it does feel important to me because I do think we have a responsibility to the younger generation of women".
Kate added that being in the spotlight, she felt she had a strong position in which to try and promote a positive body image message to young girls around the world.

"I think they do look to magazines," she said, speaking about future generations. "I think they do look to women who have been successful in their chosen careers and they want people to look up to – and I would always want to be telling the truth about who I am to that generation because they've got to have strong leaders."
She added: "We're all responsible for raising strong young women, so these are things that are so important to me."
The Steve Jobs actress is renowned for regularly speaking out about the use of photo editing tools on images of herself and her fellow celebrities, both in magazines and campaigns. In 2003, she famously released a statement about a shoot with GQ after they airbrushed the images.
"The retouching is excessive," she said. "I do not look like that and more importantly, I don't desire to look like that."
