Kendall Jenner files $10 million lawsuit against acne treatment brand

Kendall Jenner is suing an acne treatment company for $10 million for using her image without her permission. The Keeping up with the Kardashians star featured on label Cutera's advertisements for an acne solution in which they allegedly claimed that it had "left her with nearly flawless skin".

In the lawsuit, Kendall claims she never made a deal with the label to promote the treatment. The documents also highlight that the 20-year-old is not only currently the face of Estée Lauder, but with her lucrative modelling contracts she can charge up to at least eight figures to endorse a product.

"The right to associate Kendall Jenner's name and likeness in connection with a product or service belongs solely to Kendall Jenner and is protected by federal and state law," Kendall's lawyer Todd Wilson told TMZ.

"Today's lawsuit by Ms Jenner against Cutera, Inc., for the unauthorised use of Ms. Jenner's name and likeness to promote its product should serve notice that Ms Jenner will vigorously defend her rights under the law."

Kendall has previously opened up about her struggles with "bad acne", writing a candid post on her website.

Kylie Jenner revealed her sister turned to skincare experts for help 

"Where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it," she wrote. "It completely ruined my self-esteem. I wouldn't even look at people when I talked to them."

The young model has since revealed that she always sticks to one golden rule in her skincare routine – and the advice came from her famous siblings.

"I never picked my skin. My sisters told me, even before I had acne, to never touch my face," she told Vogue. "I stuck to that."

Her younger sister Kylie Jenner admitted that Kendall's skin began to improve after she turned to professionals to help.

"I never had bad skin but my sister had really bad skin growing up," she confessed during an interview with Rodial's founder Maria Hatzistefanis. "And the only thing that really helped her was to find a good dermatologist."
