The actress took to Instagram to urge her 2.3 million followers to embrace the ageing process, explaining that feeling good about yourself will lead to "a long and beautiful life".

Cameron also took to her website Our Body Book to re-iterate the importance of "living an engaged life" in a lengthy post where she added that her fans should focus on being confident rather than trying to fit specific beauty ideals.

It's not the first time that Cameron has encouraged her fans to embrace getting older. As part of the launch of The Longevity Book, the actress started a social media campaign in which she asked fans to share their own no make-up selfie, with the possibility of the snaps being included in the cover of her latest publication.
