"I honestly think that a serum is the most important skin care step you can take. Straight after cleansing morning and night I apply a serum (even a cocktail of serums) to my skin from hairline to nipples. Think of them as a concentrated version of all your skin needs; antioxidants, peptides, hyaluronic acid, soothing plant extracts, so that your moisturiser can do just what it is supposed to do, hydrate your skin and seal in the active ingredients from your serum.

"Here I teamed with the FUN squad at FeelUnique to beauty haul my favourite five serums. Here they are, a serum for every skin type and every occasion, and every age and budget.

"1. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - because it is the first serum I ever used and it kept my skin in great shape right through my thirties and forties. It smells heavenly (herbal active ingredients) and it is loaded with hyaluronic acid.

"2. Institue Esthederm Intensive Hyaluronique – it's my go-to serum when my skin is tight or dry and I want t instantly plump fie lines. The eye patches from this brand are also my all-time favourites - essentials for early morning TV.

"3. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Serum is my go-to flying serum, as it instantly soothes, cools and hydrates dehydrated and for me post-holiday slightly sensitive skin.

"4. Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum is still my high street hero serum; the first to bring the pentapeptides proven to work to a reasonably priced and easy to use skin serum.

"5. La Roche Posay HydraPhase Intensive from a great French pharmacy brand that I could not recommend highly enough. This is a great serum for sensitive and dry skins.

"Let me know what you think, and what your favourite skin serums are."
