Brie Larson shares her red carpet acne mishap

June 29, 2016

Brie Larson never fails to wow her fans with her radiant complexion both on and off the red carpet, but the 26-year-old has revealed she has previously struggled with acne. In a candid post shared on her Instagram page, Brie explained that she found herself "stressing" on one particular occasion when she was unable to get rid of a spot before an event.

The Room actress shared a photo on the social media app of herself back in 2013, posing for the cameras while she attended BAMCinemaFest. However, Brie chose to circle her chin with a red line and use an arrow and heart-shaped picture to highlight where the blemish was on her face.

The star then took to the accompanying caption to explain how she had tried to get rid of the spot the night before – but that her job in the spotlight meant that she couldn't avoid going out the next day.

The actress repeatedly wows fans with her radiant skin

"When you're stressing/obsessing over a zit so you put on too much zit cream before bed and wake up to giant dry spot but you gotta get your photo taken anyway," she wrote.

The Oscar winner isn't the first star to have opened up about struggling with acne. Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley has often been praised by fans for giving them a candid glimpse into her skincare routine, from her spot cream treatments to her face mask mishaps.

However, Daisy recently explained that she has always had issues with her complexion because she suffers from endometriosis. Revealing that she was diagnosed with the condition at 15 years old, Daisy explained that her spots "left my confidence in tatters". "I hate wearing make up but currently don't want to leave the house without it on," she wrote in a heartfelt lengthy post to her two million Instagram followers. "HOWEVER PROGRESS IS BEING MADE!"

She added: "With some help from a dermatologist and cutting out dairy (waah, except for spontaneous ice creams) and cutting down sugar (bigger waah but gotta do what you've gotta do)). Finally. Finally. (Throughout all this I've only had people being wonderful and encouraging and occasionally making me realise I'm being ridiculous and there's more to life)..."

The British actress then went on to urge her fans to speak up when it comes to health, before ending the post on a lighter note by poking fun at the length of the post with a series of hashtags.
