Courteney Cox has spoken candidly about undergoing cosmetic surgery, admitting that she "regrets" some of the procedures she has had done. The 52-year-old opened up about to Bear Grylls during an episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls where she revealed she has struggled with her appearance in the past because of her life in the spotlight.
Courteney Cox has revealed she "regrets" certain cosmetic procedures
The former Friends star explained that being photographed meant that she would find herself thinking she looked "horrible", but that she was trying to "relax" about her appearance.
"The more you relax into it and the less I try," she said. "Because sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and go, 'Oh, god.' Like, you look horrible."
She confessed: "I have done things that I regret, and luckily they're things that dissolve and go away. So that's good, because it's not always been my best look."
The actress opened up about ageing in Hollywood
The Cougar Town star also revealed that ageing in Hollywood put her under "pressure to maintain" her looks.
When Bear asked her if there was a "pressure to look a certain way", Courteney replied: "I think there's a pressure to maintain [your looks], not just because of fame, but just, you know, being a woman in this business. Getting older has not been… I don't think it's the easiest thing."
Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid recently rekindled their romacne
She added: "I think I was trying to keep up with getting older, trying to chase that. It's something you can't keep up with."
However, it seems that the star has been working on her confidence, explaining that nowadays her "new motto" is "just let it be".
It's no doubt been an exciting few weeks for the star, who recently reconciled with former fiancé Johnny McDaid. The Snow Patrol singer recently spoke publicly about his love for Courteney. "I don't know if you can put a label on what makes us work so well," he told Us Weekly. "But I know that I've never loved like I love this woman. So if that's enough, then that's enough."
The new series of Running Wild with Bear Grylls airs exclusively in the UK on Discovery Channel, 9pm, Wednesday 31st August.
