Angelina Jolie is the new face of Guerlain

January 24, 2017

Angelina Jolie has been tapped by luxury French beauty brand Guerlain to be the face of its new fragrance, Mon Guerlain. The company announced the news on their Instagram channel on Monday alongside a beautiful silhouette of the star.

Launching in March, the scent is said to have been inspired by the 41-year-old actress and philanthropist. According to a press release, Thierry Wasser, Guerlain's master perfumer, wanted the fragrance to be feminine while still bold (so women wearing it would be inspired to embrace their choices and dreams).

For her part, the mum-of-six had hopes that it would smell subtly of Guerlain's powder, something her mother used to wear and a scent which reminds her of some of her favourite childhood memories. This is the first huge career announcement that Angelina has made since since her split from Brad Pitt last year.

Angelina is donating her salary to charity.

While news of the partnership is just breaking, it was actually formalised back in December 2015 while Angelina was in Cambodia directing the film First They Killed My Father.

On top of her busy schedule in Hollywood, Angelina is the Special Envoy of the UN Refugee Agency and the co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative. So it's really no surprise that the filmmaker decided to donate her entire salary from the project to a charity of her choice.

This is the first time since 2007 that the Maleficent star has been the spokesperson for a beauty brand. Back then she starred in a Shiseido commercial that was only seen in Japan.
