From looking at the amazing outfits in the Met Gala red carpet, it's safe to assume that a lot of preparation went into most celebrities' appearances on Monday night. However, we never realised it involved quite this much preparation. Ashley Graham has shared a series of videos and images on her Instagram stories revealing what really goes on behind the scenes when trying to look your best for "the Oscars of fashion" – and it's pretty mind-blowing.
Ashley's routine started with this bizare treatment
First of all the supermodel shared video clips of her having her nose hairs lasered off. Ashley is seen screeching in pain as a beautician zaps at her nostril, and she captioned the video: "Never knew I had so much nose hair". She then posted another video of her enjoying a bizarre boob facial – in the clip, a beautician is applying a roller all over her cleavage, and a caption reads "Oxygen facial for the girls". This was followed by a video of her lying down with an LED light shining over her chest. Oxygen facials work by using a machine to spray atomised moisturisers, using a stream of pressurised oxygen, and are meant to give instantly smoother and plumper skin.
A few hours later she shared a clip of herself having her hair styled, during which she declared to the camera "Can’t see my nose hairs though, can you? Nooooooooooo!". Other prep for the evening including a long crucifix-embellished manicure by Mary Soul, a haircut which saw her long locks chopped into a sharp bob, and a full face of makeup featuring a gorgeous metallic lip and eye look.
It's no surprise that the 30-year-old was so open about what it takes to look red carpet-ready – Ashley is a big fan of keeping it real, often sharing unphotoshopped images of her body. However, it seems all the gruelling preparation paid off, because she looked absolutely stunning at the event in a floor-length metallic dress complete with thigh-high split and long train.
