Millie Mackintosh is our ultimate #girlcrush. She's beautiful, has a fabulous career, a gorgeous husband and we want her wardrobe. But just like women everywhere, she has suffered with her skin and it affects her mood. Speaking to HELLO! at the launch of her new makeup line (more on that later), Millie explained how difficult it has been battling with her skin since her wedding day in June. "So many people suffer, and it literally does make you feel like you don't want to leave the house. It's just really, really horrible, it makes you cry, you wake up and you think, is it going to be gone? Please be gone! And you realise it's actually worse." Not one to let it take over her life, the former Made in Chelsea star took to Instagram – where she has a huge following of 1.3 million - and revealed her bare skin in a makeup-free photo. The response blew her mind, with women everywhere identifying with her struggle. "When I shared my picture, I was so overwhelmed with messages. I read them all and it really made me feel better about it," she told us. "Everyone was saying lots of different things, and a lot of people recommended Dr. Nick Lowe, who has an acne clinic in Harley Street, so I went."

It was at the clinic that Millie was given some great advice. "They said it's hormonal and stress-related and it's to do with digestion. So, I've been trying to tackle it by eating the right foods, not eating sugar, not eating dairy and I've been trying to cut out alcohol and it has started to go."

Although Millie married Hugo Taylor back in June, she found it was after the nuptials that her skin really broke out. "After the wedding, my skin really started to react. I suffered as a teenager, and during my 20s. I've had on and off bouts of it." She reflected: "I've had so many highs and lows, and sometimes I think with skin, it takes a while to cause a reaction in your body and to come out. Your face is your biggest organ, and it does show what's going on in your body."
This is Millie's second makeup line and its even more gorgeous than the first
Refreshingly, Millie concluded that she has moved on with her skin, learning to accept it and her fans have been a huge part of that. "I've gone past that phase now, and when I'm not working, I don't put makeup on, I'm just like, 'cool, this is my skin' and yes, I felt self-conscious for a while, then I just thought, do you know what, I've got to get over this. Through sharing it, I feel so much more comfortable about it. You should never be embarrassed or ashamed."
