Summer is in full swing, which means that if you're lucky, a holiday somewhere picturesque and warm will be imminent.

Generous scoops of gelato, panoramic skylines and frothy seafronts are all within touching distance – only first you need to refine your warm-weather wish list and get your packing situation in order.

Dressing for sand and sea seems simple enough, but for guaranteed easy-breezy beachside elegance, we've put together some options to help you refine your choices.

How we chose:

  • Style and beach-appropriate: When combing through the internet's top fashion sites for the best summer pieces, we made sure that each of our picks were chic, flattering and lent themselves to a beach setting.
  • Price: Whether you're planning on splashing out or bagging a bargain, we've got a piece in your price range. We've curated our beach outfits using a mix of high-street brands and luxe designer labels.

Hello! Fashion shares the cutest beach outfits to recreate this summer:

The Y2K romantic

Red dominated the runways for AW23, and we're bringing a splash of vibrancy into our SS24 beach 'fits. Punchy and passionate, the hue delivers on impact every single time. The two-piece by Oséree combines glimmery red with another key trend, three-dimensional roses. If you're leaning into the noughties vibe, Anastacia would totally approve of these tinted Gucci shades, complete with a bold gold logo at the temples.

  • BIKINI: Oséree Lumière O Lamé Bikini, £205, MYTHERESA
  • BELT: Gold-Plated Belt, £150, RIXO
  • SUNGLASSES: Gucci Rectangular-Frame Acetate Sunglasses, £385, NET-A-PORTER
  • SHOES: Leather Sandal with Floral Heel, £79.99, MANGO

The elegant one-piece

If vintage Hollywood starlet is more your vibe, a chic one piece is worth its weight in holiday gold. This piece by Ôsalé is a total dream - the draping and decorative shine make it look beyond luxurious. We're all for the drama of a wide-brim sunhat, and this piece by Chloé is truly sophisticated. Complete the look with some cat-eye sunglasses for a retro air, and the easy-breezy elegance of Michael Kors' espadrille platform heels.

  • SWIMSUIT: Paloma Cindy Asymmetric One Piece Swimsuit Turquoise Lurex, £195, ÔSALÉ
  • HAT: Chloé Grosgrain-Trimmed Straw Sunhat, £625, NET-A-PORTER
  • BRACELET: Wavy Cuff Bracelet, £32,  & OTHER STORIES
  • SHOES: Leighton Metallic Leather Wedge Sandal, £95, MICHAEL KORS

The bright bikini

Intent on making a statement? Missoni is the pinnacle designer swimwear find for me, and I can't get enough of its colourful detailing - think chevron, rainbow palettes and the rest. This two-piece is utterly joy inducing and will look beautifully luxe for summer. I'd team the designer duo with Dear Frances' natural raffia flats and Prada's marigold yellow crochet tote, plus a Loewe shade in cream.

  • BIKINI: Missoni Mare One-Shoulder Striped Crochet-Knit Bikini, £400, NET-A-PORTER
  • SUNGLASSES: Loewe Eyewear Screen Square-Frame Acetate Sunglasses, £310, NET-A-PORTER
  • BAG: Prada Logo Crochet Tote Bag, £1550, MYTHERESA
  • SHOES: Knot Slides, £340, DEAR FRANCES

The out-of-office literalist

For a serious dose of holiday spirit, Zimmermann's floral bikini delivers lighthearted chic. The vintage-esque tropical print is so vibrant, and I love the how the ties resemble a luxe silk scarf. I'd pull out some of the tropical tones and team the two-piece with M&S' cult-adored piece in a creamy pistachio. This fabulously fruity bracelet from Koibird is high impact and would look great with a tan, and I'd tie it all together with these ballet flats by Mango. They look really expensive for high street footwear, and I love the delicacy of the ankle strap with the mesh. Granted, they're probably best kept for a non-sandy beach, or a waterfront bar, but I'm here for them.

  • BIKINI: Zimmerman Ruffled Floral Print Triangle Bikini, £150, THE OUTNET
  • BAG: Straw Pearl Shoulder Shopper, £35, M&S
  • BRACELET: Orchard Bracelet, £200, KOIBIRD
  • SHOES: Siedres x Mango Mesh Beaded Shoes, £49.99 MANGO

The Brat Girl Summer moment

Hooked on this year's Brat Girl Summer trend? We can relate. If your default summer aesthetic has been severely influenced by Charli XCX's latest music drop, then you're not alone. Lime green is dominating social media, and the vibrant hue of this triangle bikini with gold accenting is perfect for leaning into the movement. Pair yours with a timeless yet on-trend Loewe bag in natural raffia, a pair of Tory Burch flip flops in a glorious apple tone and some rave shades courtesy of Cos.

  • BIKINI: Lido Sessantaquattro Bikini, £254, NET-A-PORTER
  • BAG: Loewe x Paul's Ibiza Medium Raffia Tote, £450, MYTHERESA
  • SUNGLASSES: Wing Sunglasses, £110, COS
  • SHOES: Kira Flip Flops, £45, TORY BURCH

The cool-girl co-ord

For an effortless feel, consider tapping into the, somewhat expected, crochet shorts trend. This sunset-toned, pinstripe pair by Mango, feels timeless and bohemian in equal measure and would team well with its long-sleeve counterpart. Designer sliders have been doing the rounds over the last couple of summers since the renaissance of Birkenstock's Boston clogs, and this raffia pair by Prada is extremely chic and boasts an easy-breezy slip-on fit. For the finishing touch, I'd choose these sunnies from Bottega: playful, retro and categorically high-impact.

  • TOP: Combined Crochet Sweater, £35.99, MANGO
  • SHORTS: Combined Crochet Shorts, £29.99, MANGO
  • BAG: Miu Miu Mini Logo Woven Bucket Bag, £810, MYTHERESA
  • SUNGLASSES: Bottega Veneta Cat-Eye Sunglasses, £350, LIBERTY
  • SHOES: Prada Logo Raffia Platform Slides, £850, MYTHERESA

The boho babe

This one-piece swimsuit by royal-approved label Reiss has a sexy, 70s feel and I love the boho-esque metallics and tie detailing. The brand's tan-toned sarong would layer neatly over the swimsuit, adding a layer of gentle beach-ready print to your aesthetic. The ruffled trims add drama, arguably calling for a chunky shoe silhouette to balance it out such as these Toga leather flats. I've been coveting a Brinker & Eliza treasure for years now, and think the Montauk necklace, in all its quirky, vintage glory, would make for the perfect accessory accompaniment.

  • SWIMSUIT: Imogen Chain Detail Swimsuit, £110, REISS
  • SARONG: Anika Sarong, £50, REISS
  • NECKLACE: Brinker and Eliza Montauk Shell-Embellished Necklace, £370, SELFRIDGES
  • SHOES: Toda Virilis Padded Leather Sandals, £388, FARFETCH
