Bella Hadid is nothing if not fiercely committed to experimenting with her style. Only recently we were applauding her boldness for throwing it back to the 2010s by wearing the classic graphic tee and belted jeans combo, and yet, the supermodel has chosen to step back in time a little further for her latest look.

The 25-year-old stepped out in Malibu with her former model mother Yolanda Hadid – proving that the apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree.
At a first glance, Bella appeared to channel a Swinging Sixties it-girl, sporting a look that wouldn't have looked out of place on Twiggy or Jean Shrimpton back in the day. The supermodel wore a Chanel mini shift dress featuring light grey and horizontal stripes of varying widths.

However, on closer inspection, Bella's look actually constituted a seamless blend of design tropes that spanned different decades. The supermodel's choice of accessory initially evoked the line of a 1960s go-go boot, but instead revealed itself to be a humble pair of white ribbed leg warmers.

Bella styled her leg warmers so that the knitted edge was caught by the heel of her bright blue sneaker-style shoes, serving a serious 1980s look – Jane Fonda eat your heart out.
