Over the years we’ve had many outfits to thank The Princess of Wales’ stylist Natasha Archer for. The future Queen has ‘style icon’ cemented amongst the long list of attributes she is so adored for. And her recent trip to Boston showed us that she has got tonal dressing down to a T.
Arriving in Massachusetts for the Prince and Princess’ first tour under the reign of King Charles III, and their first time in the USA in eight years, she gave cold-weather dressing a new lease of elegance. She stepped out from the airport wearing a single breasted amethyst coloured blazer from Alexander Mcqueen, with matching cigarette trousers – perhaps a colour of choice to coincide with the commencing of Advent. The Leaf Crepe jacket featured peak shoulders, flap pockets and a single button fastening, giving the royal a longline silhouette. She layered the suit with a similar hued polo neck jumper which elevated the look and finished off with Gianvito 105 Navy Suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi in Navy – a repeated choice of footwear.

Thankfully for Kate, her late mother-in-law had equally as much calibre in the fashion department, so of course Princess Diana had the most perfect pair of sapphire earrings that added a touch of glam to Kate’s ensemble. She wore her luscious brunette tresses loose with one side tucked behind her ear, giving the gemstones their deserved spotlight.
This isn’t the first time on this trip that same palette dressing was on the Princess’ sartorial agenda. To switch on the christmas lights at Boston’s city hall, Kate was a dream in green sporting an incredible bespoke tartan dress with a ruched waist from Burberry, layered with a similar hued forest green coat from Alexander Mcqueen and green pumps from Emmy London – a staple shoe brand the Princess’ shoe closet. She finished the look with a green Mulberry bag and Shyla London pearl earrings.

She also sported a green tonal outfit last month in the UK for her visit to Colham Manor’s Children's Centre with the Maternal Health Alliance.
The ability to nail monochromatic dressing is an easy way to make an outfit look super elegant and flattering, just as Kate seems to look 24/7.
