To quote Taylor Swift, "It's me, hi. I’m the problem, it's me."
I realised that as I watched the first Harry and Meghan Netflix trailer, I completely ignored the point of them sharing their arduous story with millions around the world. Instead there was just one thing on my mind. Meghan Markle's Hermès blanket and her incredible taste.

As my WhatsApp filled up with messages from friends, "have you seen it yet" and "OMG can't wait to watch" we were all also asking each other the same thing... "did you notice she has an Hermès Avalon?" The heartbreaking black and white photo of Meghan with her head in her hands not only showed us the toll that her and Harry's breakaway from the monarchy has taken on her, as well as the ordeal that she and her husband have undergone, it also revealed her taste in homeware.
The Hermès throw was at one point de rigueur for any self-respecting interior designer or influencer and now Meghan, who let’s face it has always had exquisite taste in interiors since her The Tig blogging days, has reignited our passion for the blanket specifically.

The distinctive thin stripes of her blanket reveal that she didn’t just go for any old Hermès blanket, but the Avalon III throw blanket which retails for £1,260. "With its Hs elegantly adorning the corners, the Avalon III jacquard blanket is a signature model for Hermès, combining manual skill and precise mechanical work," Hermès explains on its website.
And so as with all things Meghan has championed in her tenure as royal (from Aquazzura heels to Strathberry bags) if it’s good enough for The Duchess of Sussex, it’s certainly good enough for us. Dear Santa if you’re reading, the Hermès Avalon is at the top of my wishlist this Christmas along with everything else Meghan is championing when it comes to homeware.
Meghan shares intimate never before seen photos in the trailer
What has Meghan Markles's Documentary taught us about her interiors taste?
- As the first trailer showed the blanket only in black and white, the second has confirmed that she opted for the beige colourway not the signatue orange, proof that Meg loves a neutral colour scheme.
- If you’re going to get yourself a designer blanket, make sure you have a cream bouclé sofa and white orchids for maximum instagrammable interiors effect.
- Investing in quality pieces that you will treasure forever.
