The time has finally come around for Britain’s answer to the Met Gala: the Fashion Awards 2022. As one of the most highly anticipated events on the global fashion calendar, our sartorial appetite was guaranteed to be nourished by the glamour thrown upon us by fashion’s cream of the crop.

As always we were not disappointed. The Royal Albert Hall was filled with supermodels, film stars and singers alike, sporting their best attire. From royal fashion icons Amelia Windsor and the Spencer twins, to Rita Ora’s funky makeup gills to Jodie Turner-Smith’s triple outfit whammy, there was lots to unpack.

There was a plethora of sequins, plenty of bright colour, effortless elegance and sculptural silhouettes – ample looks to explore and SO much inspiration for this festival party season, whatever you’re feeling.

Hello! Fashion caught up with model and activist Munroe Bergdorf on the red carpet who sported a stunning embellished cobalt blue dress from Tony Ward. She said: “it’s really just about dressing however you feel. Last week I was wearing black latex, and this week I wanted to be more pretty, glam and over the top. Just go with whatever you feel”. Hear hear.

It was a hard job, but we’ve whittled our list down to 11 of the best dressed stars of the night that you need to see.

Simone Ashley

Simone Ashley at the Fashion Awards 2022

The Bridgerton star dazzled in a custom lavender embellished 16Arlington dress based off look 37 from its SS23 collection. She maximised the glam with a Chopard diamond choker.

Suki Waterhouse

What would Alexandre Vauthier and Tinman’s love child look like? This stunning metallic number from AV’s Fall 2022 collection. We love the cape designed as a cropped jacket. Adding extra ice to her look, Suki wore bijouterie from Bulgari’s High Jewellery collection – the Serpenti Bracelet, the Serpenti ring and Serpenti earrings.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Elegance was never not on the cards for Rosie. She sported this gorgeous metallic Valentino gown with a matching clutch. Simple but chic, as always.

Lily James

Rodarte is a name on everybody's lips right now after Florence Pugh’s show stopping pink gown from the British Independent Film Awards. Well, they’ve done it again with this ethereal embellished tulle number for Lily. Well done team Rodarte. For jewellery she wore Boucheron’s Goutte de Cristal pendant earrings from their Timeless High Jewelry collection, paved with diamonds, on white gold, as well as the Lierre de Paris ring, set with rock cristal and mother-of-pearl, paved with diamonds, on white gold. Ice, ice baby.

Jourdann Dunn

The supermodel wowed in this Stephene Rolland Fall 2022 couture number. The ruffled skirt over the tribal bodice made this super flattering and elegant. She wore a full face of Charlotte Tilbury makeup and hair slicked back in a bun.

Florence Pugh

The current queen of the red carpet. We haven’t even got our breath back after her BIFA candyfloss dream dress, but it’s the second consecutive night she’d wowed us. This time in a backless red Valentino gown. Flawless.

Jodie Turner-Smith

The host for the evening served us with not one, but four looks from pre-party to afterparty. Look #3 was this dreamy figure hugging tulle number. A literal angel. Read about two of her other look here.

Naomi Campbell

As opulent as ever, Naomi shined bright like a diamond in this one shoulder Valentino dress with a removable cape. Her pin straight hair let the dress do all the talking. There was no better jewellery match for her lustrous dress than 18k white gold Bulgari pieces. She wore the Serpenti Tubolari ring, the Serpenti Seduttori bracelet and Serpenti Viper earrings.

Elsa Hosk

When you want ‘less is more’ but still want a show stopping embellished dress, take Elsa Hosk’s advice and remove material instead of glam. Makes sense right? She stole the red carpet in an embellished custom Miu Miu maxi skirt and bralet. If Elsa from Frozen was a supermodel, she’d 100% wear this.

Iris Law

Iris brought the surrealism with a funky hand emblazoned vintage Comme Des Garcons top and skirt set. She also sported the skirt for the after party, only swapping out the top for a mega cropped grey skirt. We salute her, it was too cool to wear just for a couple of hours.

Maya Jama

Going off piste from her usual brightly coloured agenda, Maya wore a little black couture number from Sabina Bilenko’s Fall 2022 collection. Accessories were the star of the show  as she gave complete Beyonce in Formation vibes with an oversized tilted hat. The black dress/hat combination provided the perfect backdrop for her mega Messika jewellery to take centre stage. She wore the ‘Beyond The Light’ Imperial Move Necklace, Earrings and Double Ring.
