Thanks to Hailey Bieber’s latest Instagram post, I’m slowly regretting my espresso coloured gel manicure.
2022’s poster-girl for glossy beauty strikes again, starting what we’re sure is about to be winter’s latest nail and lip craze, as beauty retailer Justmylook found online searches for ‘candy cane nail polish’ increased by a mega 110% following her latest manicure.

Over the holiday season maroon hued, gel nails have dominated the red carpet. Hailey herself sported these talons to the LA Lakers game on Tuesday, whilst Margot Robbie paired burgundy nails with her killer green Bottega dress for the Governors Awards 2022 ( pretty much the whole of her Babylon promotional tour). Regardless of the hue, a red manicure is a failsafe classic, as sported by Kylie Jenner and Dua Lipa in recent weeks.

But, as always, Hailey Bieber has outshone once again, upgrading the classic red in her signature glossy style.

The supermodel showcased her catwalk-worthy red tips on her Instagram page yesterday before her beauty brand Rhode’s christmas party with the caption “Prepare to be sick of me! Candy Cane glazed nails”. Never Hailey, never.
She wore a glorious boucle Miu Miu mini dress complete with gold buttons and a silk white trim – it was giving ‘santa’s little helper but make it designer’. She paired the mini with the ultimate patent black knee high boots from YSL, and the Bottega Veneta studded shearling wrap coat she sported for her 26th birthday in Tokyo. (Costing a mere $12,500, you’d expect her to wear the furry number more than once.)

Her nail artist Zola Ganzorigt revealed the exact products she used for the look on her Instagram page. She said:
"Products I used:
1. Prep the nails
2. OPI GelColor Stay Strong Base Coat
3. One coat of OPI GelColor in Funny Bunny
4. OPI GelColor in Big Apple Red for french tip
5. Apply a thin layer of OPI Chrome Effects No-Cleanse Top Coat
6. Rub the OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can
7. Apply OPI GelColor Stay Shiny Top Coat”
The other question on everybody’s lips, is what was on Hailey’s lips. She completed the glazed combo with the ultimate crimson glossy lips and her Instagram comments section is flooded with fans desperate to know the shade.
In September the entrepreneur posted her Autumn lip combo which she called ‘the brownie glazed lip’, composed of the Scott Barnes Glamazon lip pencil in ‘Naomi’, and the Rhode peptide lip treatment in ‘salted caramel’. Considering the sheer iridescent glow this Rhode product gives, it’s safe for us to assume she used this same product on top of her mystery red lip look last night.
