Royal fashion and chic investment dressing tend to go hand in hand. Think stylish neutral separates that can be mixed and matched, demure dresses and minimalist outerwear that can accompany any number of public appearance outfits. The royals are all about the classics, pieces that will stand the test of time.

But that's not to say that they don't indulge in the odd trend every now and then, after all, who could possibly resist the playful charms of Barbiecore.
Dressed head to toe in a single hue, Queen Letizia of Spain demonstrated her unrivalled sartorial skill as she stepped out on Wednesday while attending one of her final royal engagements before Christmas. 'Full on fuchsia' was very much on the agenda for her visit to the Niño Jesus University Children's Hospital in Madrid, with the 50-year-old rocking three pieces that celebrated the powerful shade that dominated this summer.
Queen Letizia sported an understated silk blouse, Boss' Banora design, which featured elegant ruching around the circular neckline. She teamed her unfussy blouse alongside a pair of classically cut straight-leg trousers from the same label, the brand's Tiluna style. The royal topped off her look with another piece by Boss, only this time her outerwear choice had a slightly more vivid hue than that of her separates.

Her classic A-line collared coat, Boss' Ohjules design, featured single-breasted tortoiseshell button detailing, which provided a stark visual contrast against the vibrancy of the wool piece's main shade. The coat also featured a centrally located horizontal panel, used to give the ultra-flattering illusion of a high waist, which naturally looked very becoming on Queen Letizia.
The stylish royal finished off her look with some black accents, a pair of low-heeled leather mules by Massimo Dutti which featured a handy buckle ankle strap fastening and subtle chrome appliqué at the base of the heel, as well as Boss' mixed metal Zoé belt.
