There’s not much on this planet that could match Michelle Yeoh’s stellar acting career. It literally only took her five days into 2023 to pick up her first award of the year - the International Star Award for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once at last night’s Palm Springs Film Festival (one of many we can safely assume).
To list her off her numerous acting accolades would take longer than an Avatar movie running time – one of the many epic movies she stars in.

But we’d argue that the 60-year-old’s sartorial versatility is just as impressive as her on-screen work, and that was proven with her maximalist Schiaparelli look she donned to attend the star-studded event. Her agenda shifted from the usual ‘bright colour’ to ‘avant garde’, and we loved it.
What more iconic spectacular brand to dress a spectacular actress? Yeoh wore a showstopping sculpted look for Schiaparelli’s F/W 2022 couture collection, boasting a gathered blue skirt that certainly made the legend’s presence known.
She made a statement in the blue gathered skirt and orange velvet blazer
The ensemble contained a mega cropped blazer crafted of orange velvet, complete with Schiaparelli-staple wide shoulders, a round neckline and adorned with sequin and beaded embroidery. The stunning skirt created a swirled illusion and wrapped around Yeoh’s waist, giving the experimental look an elegant silhouette.

The attire was completed with black tights and platform heels, with all jewellery was eschewed bar a few dainty earrings.
Fellow legendary actresses Cate Blanchett and Michelle Williams also looked dazzling. Cate excluded elegance in an archical plunge neck embellished jumpsuit from Giorgio Armani's 2009 FW collecton, whilst Michelle opted for a timeless little navy dress with Prada shoes. All three stars are high on prediction lists for ‘Best Actress’ nominations at this year’s Oscars in March.

We love Michelle Yeoh because she’s unafraid to try any colour palette and switch up her silhouettes. For example, at 2022’s Met Gala she sported an emerald green off the shoulder gown (a style Kate Middleton wore multiple times last year) from Prabal Gurung, and she donned the ultimate zesty orange power suit from Off White for an appearance on The Today Show last April.
Michelle is unafraid to experiment with colour and silhouettes
There really is nothing she can’t do.
