Hailey Bieber clearly isn’t afraid to use fashion to make a statement. And her latest outfit choice, a white T-shirt boldly emblazoned with the words "Nepo Baby" has divided the internet.

The term, which has been thrown around for the last few years, refers to the nepotism phenomenon present in Hollywood where family members, usually sons or daughters of celebrities who are famous, have managed to forge their own successful careers, seemingly based on the access and connections they have inherited from their parents.

Examples of prominent ‘Nepo Babies’ include Brooklyn Beckham, Zoë Kravitz, Lily Rose Depp and Kendall Jenner. The term has now become even more widely prevalent following New York Magazine’s controversial article and cover which offered a detailed examination of the world of Hollywood nepotism babies and our culture’s love-hate obsession with them.

Now Hailey has weighed in on the discourse, by proudly wearing her 'Nepo Baby' top, which she paired with jeans, a statement belt, and of course a devil-may care attitude. Of course the internet has gone wild over the moment, with many taking to Twitter to voice their divided opinions.

One said, "if i was hailey bieber i would use LOTS of my inherited money to make those nepo baby photos DISAPPEAR" while others have praised her sense of humour, saying "Hailey Bieber so slayy for wearing a nepo baby shirt, it’s true !!"

Hailey is not the first person to use fashion to send a message to her ‘haters.’ You might remember back in 2015, Kim Sears poked fun at the Twitter and media storm she caused earlier that week – when she was caught apparently swearing on camera during Andy Murray's semi-final match at the Australian Open. She showed up at her then fiancé's final against Novak Djokovic and playfully responded to her critics by wearing a top with the logo "Parental Advisory Explicit Content" emblazoned across her chest.
