How many times have you read a story about anything that even briefly mentions Fendi’s classic Baguette handbag, and in the next breath the infamous line from Sex And The City “it’s not a bag, it‘s a baguette” appears?
Well, now is the only official time that the saying can be used without being overused, as Sarah Jessica Parker has been spotted on set of And Just Like That with a revamp of Carrie’s beloved Baguette, and it’s pretty iconic.
Pink and green should always be seen – that’s according to SJP’s outfit. The 57-year-old elevated the art of layering in typical Carrie Bradshaw style. She wore a satin wine jumpsuit with a cropped hem and metallic green court shoes – a combination that accentuated the length of her legs. Thrown over her jumpsuit was a turquoise crepe poncho with tonal polka dots, adding a sense of texture to the look.
Though the ensemble was as colourful and interesting as one would expect from the show’s protagonist, the piece de resistance was of course the crossbody Fendi Baguette she wore, a different take on her usual shoulder style. The design of the bag gave ‘same but different’ vibes to her iconic sequin purple one. This was also sequinned, but in a deep pink colourway – adding a touch of Barbiecore to Carrie’s wardrobe.
Baguettes will forever be synonymous with Carrie Bradshaw and Sex and The City (as will Manolo Blahnik's Hangisi pumps), but in 2022 the bag seemed to have a moment of its own. Not only thanks to SJP, but also the Y2K aficionados as the bag epitomises the late 90/00s. A match made in heaven.

Last year was the bag’s 25th anniversary, and it was only right that Sarah Jessica Parker collaborated with the brand to release a capsule collection in four stunning shades of sequin embroidery.
Surely Fendi wouldn’t do anything as, or even more legendary less than four months after this stellar collection with SJP? Of course they would. Last week fashion fanatics' jaws dropped when it was revealed that Tiffany & Co had given the Baguette a new makeover to continue the anniversary commemorations, and the collection is limited edition. Hello! Fashion’s Natalie Salmon explains: “Jewellers Tiffany & Co. have reimagined Fendi’s iconic Baguette bag in the most precious of forms, using their signature duck egg blue hue to give it a total revamp.”
