After a brief hiatus, Margot Robbie has resumed her Chanel red carpet chapter – and we are 100% here for it. Attending the 80th annual Golden Globes Awards at California's The Beverly Hilton, the actress looked second to none in a blush pink halter neck number, courtesy of the fashion house heavyweight.
Created from chantilly lace and silk tulle, Margot's gown was the product of over 750 hours of craftsmanship, according to Vogue. Hardly surprising, considering the dress looked nothing short of exquisite.
Delicate sequins and beading allowed the 32-year-old to exude her signature 'leading lady-level luminosity', but the design motif that piqued our interest most was the chevron pattern that ran down the centre.
Margot Robbie looked radiant in custom Chanel
Her attendance at the Golden Globes, despite being underpinned by her nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for her role in Roaring 20s drama Babylon, actually felt directly inspired by another of her recent portrayals.
The geometric V-shape (or inverted V) pattern harked back to a look worn by Barbie in her first ever iteration back in 1959. The actress, who plays the iconic doll in Greta Gerwig's hotly anticipated live-action picture, appeared to be channelling her character at the prestigious awards ceremony.

The first Barbie doll, created in 1959, is displayed within a 2019 exhibition
The first-ever Barbie doll entered the US toy market in the late 1950s while sporting a chevron strapless black and white swimsuit – and it seemed as though the actress took a leaf out of her book with her Golden Globes look. The devil works hard, but the Barbie promo team works harder?
Chanel autumn 2022 haute couture
Margot's outfit was actually a reworked version of a look debuted in Chanel's autumn 2022 haute couture collection, designed by the label's creative director Virginie Viard. Previously envisioned in a black colourway with sheer sleeves, Margot's bespoke iteration also featured a frothy, feathered fishtail and a central celestial brooch – also by Chanel.
