Stylish duo Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who are of course both fashion icons in their own right, eschewed the red carpet at the 80th Golden Globes last night, but still dazzled at the awards show.
Musician-turned-clothing and beauty entrepreneur Rihanna was up for her first-ever Golden Globe nomination for her song Lift Me Up from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Although she may have lost out to Naatu Naatu, from the film RRR, there was one award she and her beau definitely won: best dressed couple.

Rihanna wore a Schiaparelli haute couture ruched gown
Rihanna wore an outfit from couturier Schiaparelli, hailing from the brand’s Spring-Summer 2022 haute couture collection. The ruched long sheath dress in black fluid jersey was paired with a dramatic opera coat, and her intricate updo hair only added to the surrealistic aesthetic of the ensemble. For accessories, 'RiRi' donned Cartier jewellery and eye-wateringly vertiginous Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
The dress was Look 27 from the runway show, "Our last Couture collection was conceived in a brief period of hope: It was April. Vaccines were becoming widely available. Travel was becoming a possibility once again. We could begin to imagine that our collective nightmare was behind us, or at least would soon be," explained the maison's creative director Daniel Roseberry of the collection, "Throughout the 23 fittings for this collection, I realised that what felt exciting in this moment was something different, something restrained. Suddenly, colour felt wrong to me. So, did volume. All of the tricks that couture designers (including me) use to communicate grandeur and craftsmanship—big silhouettes, glorious poufs of fabric, huge volume—felt hollow."

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their first child together last year
A$AP Rocky for his part donned a classic sharp black suit and tie while supporting his partner, as they were seen sitting next to each other at the event. Couples that slay together, stay together. At least that’s true in the case of these megastars.
