The Golden Globes are always memorable. Like Michelle Williams calling out reproductive rights in 2020, or Renée Zellweger taking an untimely bathroom break when her award for Best Actress was announced in 2001. Last night it was Jennifer Coolidge’s acceptance speech that stole the show at the 80th award ceremony at the Beverly Hotel in Los Angeles.
Alongside the awards ceremony shenanigans, the red carpet attire is also unforgettable, and is scrutinised just as much as the speeches.

Though not everyone could win a prestigious accolade, there’s always an opportunity to win the red carpet. And here’s 10 attendees on the star-studded guest list who nailed the extravagant agenda.
Rihanna in Schiaparelli
When it comes to extravagance, Schiaparelli is the master. Rihanna wore a haute couture ruched gown from the brand’s SS22 collection. Her slinky strapless dress was made dramatic with a show stopping opera coat and cartier jewellery. Though she and A$AP Rocky bypassed the red carpet, their outfits certainly made an entrance.
Jenna Ortega in Gucci
The It-girl of the moment Jenna Ortega eschewed her inner Wednesday Addams for the first time since Wednesday graced our lives. The goth-glam muse left the monochrome at home and wore a tan coloured pleated gown from Gucci. The cut out detail nailed last year’s ultimate dress trend, whilst the excessive floaty arms and choppy train upped the drama and added a touch of Morticia Addams to the look.
Michelle Yeoh in Armani Prive
After her mesmerising Schiaparelli couture look at the Palm Springs Film Festival this week, Michelle Yeoh made diamonds the pinnacle of her Golden Globes look. She picked up the award for Best Performance wearing a striking crystal-embellished strapless Armani Prive dress. The navy dress stood out with its sequin adorned design and boasted a tiered peplum waist… is peplum about to make a comeback?
Selena Gomez in Valentino
The Only Murders In The Building star was a vision in Valentino wearing a strapless black gown with the ultimate balloon sleeves. The deep plum tone added dramatic elegance, whilst her high ponytail upped the sophistication. Showcasing the only jewellery she donned with the look – a pair of diamond dangle earrings. We told you these earrings are back in fashion.
Julia Garner in Gucci
We’d expect nothing less than a total red-carpet showstopper from Anna Delvey (aka Sorokin), and Julia Garner hit the nail on the head with this crystal embellished tiered gown from Gucci. She gave ultimate ballerina vibes, picking up the award for Best Supporting Role in Netflix's Ozark. Perhaps the piece de resistance to her look was her ultra blond pixie cut, a style she sported at the beginning of 2022, too. Maybe ‘new year, new haircut’ is her motto?

Heidi Klum in Germainer
Germainer is a brand recognised for its embellished dresses, dramatic feather trims and ‘upcycled glamour’ – the ideal combination for an ‘extra’ red carpet look. Heidi Klum turned heads in an incredible silver cut-out sequin mini dress, complete with a matching choker neckline and a stunning lavender feather adornment draping over one shoulder, giving 1920s Hollywood a 2023 makeover. Obsessed.
Elizabeth Debicki in Dior
Much like Anya Taylor Joy, The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki also brightened up our gloomy January by bringing dopamine dressing to the red carpet. It seems ‘dopamine Dior’ was the theme, as both sophisticatedly sported the French brand. Elizabeth eschewed her typical ‘subtle elegance’ muted toned agenda and wore an elegant pink strapless gown, with a thin sash under the bust tied in a bow – a subtle nod to Princess Diana?
Daisy Edgar Jones in Gucci
Daisy’s corset style dress from Gucci oozed sultry sophistication. The lace adorned fitted bodice channelled ‘underwear as outerwear’ – perhaps she took a leaf out of Rita Ora’s book? Whilst the black tiered ruffle skirt added dramatic elegance.

Michelle Williams in Gucci
Michelle Williams was another A-list actress to put on a glamorous Gucci affair. The cream ruffled gown boasted a silver trim and a flattering cinched waist. The thigh-high split on one side and a ruffled train on the other maxed out the elegance. We hope to look this stellar a few months after giving birth, too.
Billy Porter in Christian Siriano
Billy’s only gone and done it again. At the Oscars in 2019 he made a memorable moment in a black-tie tuxedo gown. This time he turned to designer and friend Christian Siriano to make a custom tuxedo overlay gown, but this time in a vibrant fuschia colourway. If you ever need inspo for a ‘bridesman’ outfit… look no further
