Daisy Edgar-Jones always nails her special occasion attire. From whimsical floral gowns, to art deco delightfulness – everything she wears is captivating . The 24-year-old’s Gucci era is currently in full swing, and we are loving every second of it.
At last night’s 80th Golden Globe awards ceremony, the Normal People actress donned an incredible custom, corset style black gown, giving one of last year’s prominent sartorial trends a red carpet refurbishment.

Daisy wore couture Gucci to the Golden Globes 2023
Styled by her longtime stylist Nicky Yates, the fitted, lace adorned bodice gave the ultimate lingerie inspired look. Outwear as underwear dominated the fashion set last year, and was notably channelled into 2023 by Rita Ora (though she wore hers on a beach, not a red carpet). Edgar-Jones gave the look a black tie makeover that exuded glamour. The structured top half neatly transitioned into a dramatic tiered skirt with the addition of black V-shaped fabric that drapes from the hips to the front of the gown accompanied by sheer hip cut outs, creating a flattering illusion.

The lower half took ‘tiered’ to a whole new level, with numerous tulle layers that gave this goth-glam look a feminine silhouette.
Jewellery was eschewed other than a pair of diamante earrings and a chunky silver chainmail ring on her index finger, letting the dress do the talking it deserved to do.
Daisy’s brunette tresses were swept back in a bun, with her signature bangs parted across her face.
Her Golden Globes turn came after the announcement she will play legendary singer and songwriter Carole King in a new biopic. The film, titled Beautiful, will see her take on the role of Carole in a story, which will detail her life as well as feature some of her most iconic songs like A Natural Woman, One Fine Day and You've Got a Friend.
The London-born actress's recent Gucci looks have also hit the nail on the head. In November she wore a glamorous 1920s inspired swing dress. Hello! Fashion’s Orin Carlin explained: “The 24-year-old wore a chevron sequin slip dress with a mesh maxi overlay skirt from Gucci's Resort 2023 collection and looked thrilled to reunite with her Normal People co-star Paul Mescal.”
Over the summer of 2022, Jones opted for a whimsical floral embellished asymmetrical midi gown to the premiere of Where The Crawdads Sing – a total juxtaposition to the film’s storyline. The ethereal ensemble was from the Italian fashion house’s Cosmogonie Resort 2023 collection.
She’s officially a Gucci goddess.
