Hailey Bieber reveals the 'miracle' ingredient in her best-selling beauty product

The supermodel shares everything you need to know about cupuaçu

Hailey Bieber has just revealed why the cult-favourite product from her brand Rhode, is so effective.

The supermodel-turned-beauty-entrepreneur shared that the secret ingredient in her peptide lip treatment is cupuaçu.

On a video posted to YouTube she says, “I'm back with another episode where I am diving into another one of my favourite skincare ingredients. Today, I want to talk to you guys about cupuaçu. Cupuaçu is a fruit pulp that comes from the Cupuaçu tree from Brazil, which we love.”

Hailey is half-Brazilian on her mother’s side, and appeared on the cover of Vogue Brazil for the first time in 2021 for its April issue. The animal lover then goes on to say that the Cupuaçu in the restorative lip treatment, “Is a natural alternative to lanolin, which is not vegan and can actually be irritating.” 

There are plenty of other benefits she lists explaining, “Cupuaçu is highly emollient, It is delicious and buttery and smooth and so hydrating, it gives super long lasting hydration. I love cupuaçu because I hate chapped lips, can't stand them. So I use the lip product throughout the day to keep my lips supple and hydrated. I absolutely love it.” She ends the video with, “I hope you guys enjoyed this episode where we highlighted another one of my favourite ingredients. We can't wait to show you some more.”

Neither can we.

Cupuaçu is grown in the Amazon rainforest

What is Cupuaçu?

Theobroma grandiflorum, commonly known as cupuaçu, and can also be spelled cupuassu, cupuazú, cupu assu, or copoazu, is a tropical rainforest tree closely related to the chocolate producing cacao plant. It is native to the Amazon basin, it is naturally cultivated in the jungles of north of Brazil. The pulp of the cupuaçu fruit is consumed throughout Central and South America, but primarily in the northern states of Brazil, where it is used to make ice creams, snacks and other products.
