Princess Kate can't get enough of this luxury designer brand and it's sustainable

All the times the Princess of Wales has worn Gabriela Hearst

January 19, 2023

Yesterday the Princess of Wales paid a visit to Foxcubs Nursery in Luton as part of her ongoing work with childhood development. The aim was to highlight how best practice and parenting in the crucial early years of childhood has such a significant effect on lifelong outcomes.

Princess Kate once again wore one of her favourite looks, an orange twin set from eponymous designer Gabriela Hearst. She donned the brand’s ‘Peppe’ cashmere and silk sweater and well as the matching ‘Epper’ ribbed-knit high-rise midi skirt. She paired the look with Stuart Weitzman’s 'Muse' Brown Suede Clutch and her trusty bespoke Gianvito Rossi brown suede boots. To finish off the ensemble she wore a  black crocodile-stamped leather belt from Ralph Lauren and citrine pear drop earrings from Kiki McDonough.

This isn’t the first time the royal has championed the high-end sustainable brand, it turns out the label has become something of a go-to for Kate and she has worn Gabriela Hearst’s garbs four times in three months.

The orange knit set she sported yesterday she has actually worn before, albeit with a different coat (a chocolate brown number from Alexander McQueen) for a visit she and Prince William undertook to Boston Harbour. The couple visited the waterfront location in the United States back in December 2022 to learn about the environmental issues Boston faces as it contends with rising sea levels.

Prior to that she had been spotted wearing a similar burgundy skirt co-ord from the brand to the England vs Papua New Guinea rugby match on 5 November 2022. She also wore the brand’s camel hued Betti dress to visit 'The Street' community hub during an official visit to Scarborough on November 3 2022 in England.

Who is Gabriela Hearst?

Born in Uruguay, Gabriela Hearst grew up on her family’s 17,000-acre ranch, Santa Isabel in Paysandu, surrounded by horses, cattle and sheep, where the notion of luxury meant things were beautifully crafted and made to last. Gabriela attended the British School in Montevideo and studied Communications at the O.R.T. University of Uruguay. After more than a decade spent in design in New York, Gabriela honored her family’s heritage through the launch of her eponymous label in Fall 2015, as well as taking over the operations of her father’s ranch in Uruguay.

The royal also wore the brand's Betti dress in November 2022

Who is Gabriela Hearst married to?

Gabriela Hearst is married to ‘Austin’ aka John Augustine Hearst. He is an executive and a grandson of William Randolph Hearst. William Randolph Hearst Sr. was an American businessman, newspaper publisher, and politician known for developing the nation's largest newspaper chain and media company, Hearst Communications, which owns magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire and Cosmopolitan.
