As ever, this season's crop of front rowers at Paris Haute Couture Week rocked up in ensembles rivalling those of the models gracing the runway.

Ex-Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley brought major sartorial drama in the form of 2023's most striking partywear trend.

Attending Valentino's show, the 35-year-old oozed playful decadence in a slouchy double-breasted blazer with floaty feather-trimmed cuffs.

Proving that feathers should not merely be reserved for the festive season, Rosie rocked the textural trend in a way that seamlessly aligned with her trademark minimalist approach.

Overt decadence and low-key chic might feel discordant at first, but the supermodel successfully found a way to marry the two concepts – and we can't get enough.

Rosie rocked an oversized blazer with feather-trimmed cuffs

Known best for her boundless love of neutrals and cool-girl silhouettes, the Rose Inc founder opted for an oversized blazer in a pale beige shade which exuded playful energy around the cuffs. She paired her statement jacket alongside wide-fit tailored trousers, a light taupe bodysuit, a chunky gold chain collar and her signature super sleek balletic bun. Très chic.

Feathers, including plumes, make for the perfect textural addition to a red carpet outfit or runway look because of their enchanting, kinetic energy. The frothy design favourite has been present in numerous recent collections by the likes of Chanel, Bronx and Banco and Elie Saab.

Historically, they were only worn by the wealthy because they were so expensive to source, and therefore they came to represent high social standing. Milliners in particular took full advantage, using feathers and plumes on hats and headdresses to add drama and an inviting, tactile element to their designs.
