The singers breastplate was created by Jonathan Anderson
Staying true to her alternative approach to maternity wear, Rihanna’s outfit consisted of a custom made breastplate crafted by British designer Jonathan Anderson. The founder of J.W.Anderson and Creative Director of Loewe shared a close up look at the sculptural form fitting piece on his Instagram account. The rest of the outfit was a custom red Alaïa creation, by Pieter Mulier. With just a 14-minute set to wow the crowd, the We Found Love singer had to pull out all the stops, and Pieter delivered.

Fans had been casting their predictions as to what she and long-time stylist Jahleel Weaver would have in store for what felt like an age. The final look consisted of a tight bodysuit, showing off her new bump to aplomb. With little time for outfit changes, the designer clad Rihanna in an elaborate long red puffer coat which was thrown off to reveal a matching ‘shawl-gloves’ hybrid garment and finally a red boiler suit, left unzipped to show off Rihanna’s pregnancy reveal. Iconic.
Rihanna also wore Messika earrings and vintage brooches
Of course Jahleel didn’t end his styling magic there. Rihanna’s Alaïa all-in-one was adorned with three diamond brooches from Joseph Saidian & Sons, a fourth generation vintage jewellery dealer based in New York. As for Riri’s own jewellery she opted for stunning diamond pieces that ran up the length of her lobes from Messika.
From starting with B**** Better Have My Money, to ending with Diamonds, the 34-year-old didn’t miss a single beat and neither did her superlative sense of style. We’re ready for Rihanna’s second round of maternity lewks.
