Fashion month is in full swing, with fashion’s cream of the crop sharing their collections for Autumn/Winter 2023. Of course we still have a whole summer to look forward to before then, so thankfully Lily James is serving top-notch holiday looks on her trip to the Maldives, that will 100% be our summer uniform.
Prior to the Pam and Tommy actress making a case for lime green on the red carpet wearing Miu Miu at the What’s Love Got to do with It? premiere this week, Lily jetted off for some winter sun to this island of Muravandhoo in the Maldives with her friend and fellow British actress Gala Gordon.

Clearly experiencing a bout of the holiday blues, James posted images to her Instagram for her 3.3 million followers saying: “Remember when we were in paradise @joalimaldives ? @galagordon xxx”

Lily started with a must have for every holiday wardrobe – a LBB (Little Black Bikini). As important as an LBD but essential for the beach, she opted for a classic two-strap bikini with a slit in the bust, creating a daring plunge neckline (ideal for no tan lines if a plunge dress is also in your suitcase). The high-rise bottoms created a flattering silhouette around her hips, and the addition of a raffia boater gave an added touch of chic to her daytime look. All she was missing was a matching raffia bag.

For one of her dreamy evening adventures, the 33-year-old wore a black linen midi dress from American brand Mara Hoffman. The dress boasted sleeves, with the comprising drawstring centre detailing that create the ultimate cut out detailing – a trend that’s on our radar for 2023. She paired the look with bijouterie from the brand in every cool girl’s jewellery box, Missoma.
She opted for wispy light make up on her sunkissed skin, with her hair styled in signature sun holiday style – wet, left loose and brushed back behind her ears. Don’t you just miss that feeling?

After treating us (and making us envious) to some lovely images of the scenery, Lily swapped her black bikini for a sophisticated white ensemble. Everybody knows that saving a white outfit for later in the holiday is key to helping your bronzed glow protrude. She wore a white bikini, with a backless white cover up – perfect for some coverage but still some sun exposure – and a slicked back bun. Super easy to recreate and ultra chic.

Finally, she added a pop of colour into the mix, donning an orange mini dress paired with dangle gold earrings for a radiant, elegant look. Orange was a standout colour at Couture week, proving that as always, Lily’s sartorial agenda is bang on trend. The ruched design with a ruffled neckline created a flattering silhouette. She paired the look with the one thing you must never forget for a holiday - black flip flops.
If there’s one thing we want more than a holiday right now, it’s Lily’s summer suitcase to take with us.
