As always, London Fashion Week delivered on all fronts.
From the moment the week began, attendees made the street style agenda of right now immediately clear. Fringing, elevated double denim, matching separates, statement handbags and romantic tulle are what we should be looking to incorporate into our everyday wear.
There were also plenty of runway debuts for British brands. Vintage-inspired experts Annie’s Ibiza presented its first in-house collection that used historic techniques to create a timeless collection inspired by the spirit of Ibiza, and Tove founders Camille Perry and Holly Wright showcased a masterclass in elevated simplicity at their first runway show.

Perhaps the most talked about ‘first’ of the week was Daniel Lee’s debut Burberry show as Chief Creative Officer. Held in Kennington Park in south London, the Bradford-born designer celebrated the brand’s outdoor heritage with his collection.
Though the front row guest list at Burberry was stellar (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Naomi Campbell and Jodie Comer to name a few), no brand had people talking like Moncler.
It ended the week with a bang, conjuring an immersive show to celebrate the power of collaboration between industries (did we mention there was a live performance from Alicia Keys?), though perhaps our favourite part of the show was Hailey Bieber convincing us that we need to invest in a padded gilet to wear with a LBD…
The Hello! Fashion team hit the streets of London to soak up all that this delightfully British week has to offer and there were plenty of trends from the runway that we immediately noted for our Autumn/Winter wardrobes.
If there’s one staple design that permeated through shows from even the most individual of designers, it was animal print.
“The kitschy animal theme played perfectly into a quintessentially British narrative." explains Hello!'s Tania Leslau. “[It’] conjured up nationalistic images of forest vistas, spring-time gardens in bloom and swathes of unbeatable countryside that England is renowned for.
Hello! Fashion’s biggest trends from London Fashion Week AW23:
Glitter
Huishan Zhang
16arlington
Simone Rocha
All that glitters is in fact gold when it comes to our sartorial agenda for the post-summer season according to 16Arlington, Huishan Zhang and Simone Rocha.
Red
Bora Aksu
Eudon Choi
David Koma
Every guest was seeing red this week. The fiery hue not only dominated the runway thanks to David Koma, Eudon Choi and Bora Asku, but Nensi Dojaka’s show took place under striking red lights, and Koma rolled out the red carpet for his catwalk.
Hello! Fashion’s editor Jill Wanless commented, “Move over cobalt blue there’s a new primary to get to grips with. Red suddenly feels really fresh again, especially worn head-to-toe. I loved this colour pop at Eudon Choi in the form of a silky dress, tights and mules as much as I appreciated the mini dress and go-go boots at David Koma.”
Sheer
Simone Rocha
16arlington
Nensi Dojaka
This supermodel-approved trend of SS23 has been firmly imprinted into our winter wardrobes. 16arlington, Molly Goddard, Simone Rocha and of course Nensi Dojaka all presented various takes on this daring silhouette.
Animal Print
Burberry
Christopher Kane
SS Daley
Christopher Kane, SS Daley and Burberry all proved the power of print, with animal print dominating the runway.
“Christopher Kane took it one step further, moving away from woodland themes and towards farm-based fantasy” explains Tania. “The designer showcased candy-pink pig print bodycons, in addition to marigold yellow duck print and the more divisive rat print pieces that became a social media hit.”
Cut outs
Mark Fast
Fashion East
Sinead O'Dwyer
Another major trend from last season that is going absolutely nowhere. Models were adorned in cut-outs at Sinead O’Dwyer, Mark Fast and Fashion East’s shows, giving the trend a shakeup for the forthcoming season. Move over, Valentino.
“Daring to bare continues at full fervour sparked by Nensi Dojaka’s revealing collections of past seasons worn by the likes of Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, Emily Ratajkowksi and Camille Charriere. It’s not for the fainted hearted but it was fully embraced by a diverse cast of models at Sinead O’Dwyer in the form of body stockings and seen as ethereal cobweb beaded dresses at Susan Fang.” Jill adds.
Other trends to watch:
Fluffy shoes
Yuhan Wang
Corsages
Paul and Joe
3D florals
Susan Fang
Bows
Simone Rocha
Wednesday Addams-core
Bora Aksu
