Red carpet showstoppers may be Lily James' area of expertise, but that's not to say that she doesn't excel when it comes to more understated style moments.
The Pam & Tommy star caught our eye at the end of last week with her striking spider web couture gown by Tamara Ralph worn to the BAFTAs and, naturally, her uber-glam after-party look which consisted of 16 Arlington's bejewelled 'Luna' gown and fluffy, powdery blue 'Circe' jacket. Party perfection indeed.
But Lily is far from a one-trick pony, in fact, the Downton Abbey star demonstrated her sartorial ability on Friday morning as she pared things back for a style moment outside the BBC Radio 2 studios in London.
The actress was appearing on air to discuss her upcoming role in Shekhar Kapur's rom com What's Love Got to Do with It? which is released across UK cinemas today.

Lily opted for neutral separates and a glossy overcoat
The 33-year-old championed a neutral colour palette, sporting a creamy, off-white V-neck sweater alongside a pair of white relaxed-fit, straight-leg trousers and chunky sole platform trainers. Lily topped off her low-key separates with a piece of outerwear that had us reassessing our current coat collection. The actress opted for a sleek black maxi coat with a glossy finish which embellished her outfit with a sultry sense of texture.
The actress topped off her look with Versace sunglasses
The further addition of dark shades gave Lily's look a Matrix-esque air – Keanu Reeves would be proud. She accessorised with a silver shoulder bag which was adorned with gold Greek key pattern hardware by Italian luxury label Versace. Lily recently starred in the brand's fall 2022 campaign and even wore a bespoke piece by Versace at the Golden Globe Awards last month – clearly Donatella is a fan.
The actress was in London for an interview on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show about her starring role alongside Shazad Latif in her new film. She plays a documentary filmmaker who navigates the dating scene with varying levels of success, much to the exasperation of her mother, played by acting legend Emma Thompson.
"Emma Thompson is a great acting mum, she's just a dream and so generous and kind and hilarious, and she plays such a hilarious role in this film," Lily revealed on the radio show.
