The Princess of Wales serving sartorial greatness in looks that we’re always desperate to recreate is nothing new. And her influence on the fashion sphere has clearly made waves in the royalty circle too, as Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway turned to Kate for evening attire inspiration during her visit to the UK on Wednesday, wearing an almost identical dress to Kate’s from one of her favourite brands.
Mette-Marit joined her husband, Crown Prince Haakon at the Norway Night networking reception at Lindley Hall in Westminster, completely stealing the limelight in an opulent navy gown from Kate Middleton-approved brand The Vampires Wife.

Mette-Marit stunned in the Cinderella Ruffle-Trimmed Silk-Blend dress in navy. The divine maxi boasts a 1970s silhouette with structured shoulders, a rounded high neckline and elegant cascading tiered ruffles along the hem and the arm cuffs.

She colour coordinated the gown with a navy clutch bag from Italian brand VBH, and navy Manolo Blahnik BB70 pumps.
She wore her long blonde dresses loose and curled paired with an opulent glam makeup look with a deep pink lip which – intentional or not – complimented her husband’s tie perfectly.

The Princess wore the ‘Falconetti’ dress in emerald green to a reception during a visit to Ireland in March 2020. The gown boasted the same silhouette as Mette-Marit’s, but with fewer tiered ruffles. She also colour coordinated with green suede pumps – unsurprisingly as Kate is an expert when it comes to tonal dressing – but she adopted a new agenda for St David’s Day yesterday which was a surprising look.
She also wore the brand in Belize last year
Giving ‘Barbiecore’ an elegant makeover, Kate also stunned in a pink sequin ‘The Light Sleeper’ gown from the brand in Belize on a tour of the Caribbean with her husband, Prince William to celebrate the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
