Eagled-eyed royal fashion fans will have noticed that the Princess of Wales often shows off her keen sartorial eye by matching her outfit to the theme of a royal engagement. Coming through with yet another bout of colour coordination, Princess Kate looked elegant alongside her husband the Prince of Wales on Thursday morning at a "green energy" meeting held at Windsor Castle.
Princess Kate and Prince William made for a seriously stylish royal duo as they welcomed the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway to discuss renewable sources of energy and various other environmental topics, followed by a meeting with leading Norwegian businesses working on green energy solutions.

Green was not only on the meeting's agenda but also imbued throughout Princess Kate's outfit – the 41-year-old looked characteristically chic in a castleton green trouser suit. The stylish royal looked sharp in a bespoke tailored blazer by British heritage label Burberry, previously worn in a series of videos released in January to promote her new early years campaign, which she paired with a blouse in a harmonious shade.

Princess Kate's refined choice of blouse, also courtesy of Burberry, was a silk crepe de Chine design with tie-neck detailing in a slightly lighter shade than her blazer. Something of a royal style favourite, the pussybow blouse has a rich history and Princess Kate wore hers recently, again, within a video to promote her 'Shaping Us' campaign, in which she chatted to schoolchildren about emotions.

The style oozes femininity, and yet has strong historical associations with subversion. Pussybow blouses were often worn by those who were starting to "invade male spaces – the golf course, the workplace – and challenge traditional dress codes", according to fashion historian Dr Kate Strasdin via The Guardian.
Unfussy sophistication is Princess Kate's area of expertise, and we love how she balanced the soft drama of a bow with the sharpness of her suit. Consider us green with envy…
